"House of David" is Now the #2 Series on Prime Video

The new series House of David, from visionary filmmakers and Wonder Project creative leaders Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution, American Underdog) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels), premiered on February 27 on Prime Video and is now the #2 series on Prime Video. The series, which chronicles the life of King David, is available in multiple languages in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
In conjunction with the launch of the Amazon Prime series, this week Pastor Laurie has released House of David (A Devotional): 30 Days with the Man after God's Own Heart. This book serves as a companion devotional to the show and is available for purchase on Amazon Prime and wherever books are sold.
House of David tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he's destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.
"David was one of the greatest leaders in human history, and the initial success of the series demonstrates the power of his life and his story," said Pastor Greg Laurie, a consulting producer on House of David. "David was a man that we can all relate to so easily. Scripture even refers to him as "a man after God's own heart." Yet he was far from perfect. He lied, committed adultery, and even orchestrated a murder. But because David repented, and turned to God, his life was redeemed in almost unfathomable ways. I hope this redemption story continues to make its way into more homes as a result of this new series."
Fans can also enjoy "Beyond House of David," a documentary hosted by Pastor Laurie and his wife, Cathe, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the series, available for streaming on the Harvest+ app and on Harvest.org. Pastor Laurie also reflects on David's story and the Psalms that he wrote, and applies it to the viewer as they are encouraged to have their own relationship with God like David had.
