Carolyn Arends' "Psalm 5" Expresses Our Hearts' Cries in This Current Russian-Ukraine Crisis
Two times Dove Award winner Carolyn Arends returns with a brand new single "Psalm 5." The song is the first release from Arends' acoustic worship EP In the Morning. "Psalm 5," which features Steve Bell duetting with Arends and plaintive violin solo from Spencer Capier, is a cry to God to listen our hearts' cry.
In a time when Russia is ruthlessly and violently innvading Ukraine,"Psalm 5" expresses our intercession for the innocent victims of this current war. "With the start of Lent - not to mention the situation in the Ukraine and global unrest," Arends observes, "it seems like a prayer that might be helpful for many."
Give ear to my words, O Lord/Consider my meditation/Harken unto the voice of my cry/My King and my God

Arends has earned 2 Dove Awards, 3 Juno Nominations, and was recognized as the West Coast Music Awards' Songwriter of the Year. Her prose has been recognized by The Word Guild, The Evangelical Press Association and The Canadian Church Press Awards.
Carolyn is following up the release of RECOGNITION (an album of twelve new rootsy and melodic originals) with In the Morning (an acoustic worship EP).
In addition to her busy touring and speaking schedule, Carolyn serves as the director of education for Renovaré, a far-reaching organization that encourages and nurtures personal and spiritual renewal.
