Ray Stevens' Wife Penny Enters "End-of-Life Stage"

Twelve-time nominated and two-time GRAMMY® Award winner Ray Stevens has announced over social media that his wife Penny has "end-of-life" stage. As a result, Stevens has cancelled all his upcoming performances at the CabaRay, Stevens' Nashville-area entertainment venue.
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you Ray's wife, Penny, has had a prolonged illness and has suddenly and rapidly progressed to the end-of-life stage, and Ray is devastated," states a message on Stevens' Facebook page. "His only focus right now is her."
"Regretfully, Ray will not be able to perform the New Year's Eve show scheduled at the CabaRay, it has been canceled. We are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience and hope you all understand. Please send your thoughts and prayers to Ray and his family during this difficult time."
Throughout his career, Stevens has sold more than 40 million albums. In 2018, the music legend opened his very own Nashville entertainment venue, the CabaRay Showroom, a 35,000 square foot music venue where, during non-COVID-19 times, Stevens performs weekly live concerts. He is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, has a star on the Music City Walk of Fame and was formally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in the fall of 2019.
