Story Behind Casey J's New Song "The Gathering"

Casey J has recently released her new song "The Gathering," the title cut of her upcoming album to be released by Integrity Music in January 2019. It all started with one question - "What about the people that aren't coming to church?" So, God placed it in her heart to just start popping up at local parks in Atlanta with one agenda -to gather people together and share God's love using worship as their vehicle.
Every month, Casey and her band would pack up guitars, percussion instruments, and a few blankets and just sit in the grass and sing. They started to see something beautiful - an intersection between the church and those who we are called to serve that reached beyond just our Sunday experiences. From that grass grew a deep and solid purpose to create experiences that put all eyes on Him, both inside and outside of the church and to write music that is the soundtrack to not only Sunday mornings on pews but Tuesday afternoons under the stars.
Even so come, we're ready
For Your presence
Come and change our vision
Eyes on You
Come, we're desperate
Hearts are open
Jesus come
Come quickly, come
In 2015, Casey J recorded her first project entitled "The Truth" (Tyscot Records/MBE), a collection of songs with corporate worship at their core. The lead single from this project, "Fill Me Up", earned massive traction and ranked high on several US charts. Subsequently, "I'm Yours", written by Casey, followed with similar success and propelled her to a Stellar Award win for New Artist of the Year in 2016.
