Ronnie Milsap Turns 73 and Plans on Releasing "Gospel Greats"
Ronnie Milsap just turned 73 on January the 16th! But there's no retirement as far as the veteran country singer is concerned. On February 12th, he is releasing a new Gospel album entitled Gospel Greats, via Black River Entertainment.
Gospel Greats is a compilation album of 12 Christian songs Milsap recorded in 2009 for his double disc collection Then Sings My Soul. This new set will feature Milsap singing the classic hymns of the church such as "Amazing Grace," "Holy Holy Holy," "The Lord's Prayer," as well as standards such as "Stand By Me" and "What a Diffrence You've Made in My Life."

Milsap's legendary career, which includes more than 35 million albums sold and over 40 No. 1 hits, has earned him plenty of accolades. He's won six Grammy Awards, five ACM Awards and eight CMA Awards, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year Award in 1977. The legendary tunesmith was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1976 and received the prestigious Career Achievement Award at the 2006 Country Radio Seminar.
He became country music's first successful blind singer, and one of the most successful and versatile country "crossover" singers of his time, appealing to both country and pop music markets with hit songs that incorporated pop, R&B, and rock and roll elements. His biggest crossover hits include "It Was Almost Like a Song", "Smoky Mountain Rain", "(There's) No Gettin' Over Me", "I Wouldn't Have Missed It for the World", "Any Day Now", and "Stranger in My House". He is credited with six Grammy Awards and forty No. 1 country hits, third to George Strait and Conway Twitty.
In 2014, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
