'iPhone 6' Latest News: A New But Very Early Study Shows that the New iPhone 6 is Outselling its Big Brother the 'iPhone 6 Plus'
In a new study that was released by MixPanel, a mobile analytics firm, the numbers show a trend slowly making itself apparent in the sales of the new iPhone 6 and the new iPhone 6 plus, said a news report published by technology site TechCrunch.
While it is true that the data from MixPanel gives numbers for both phones during first few hours of being on sale, they may already be an indication of what the future of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus is.
The report makes it apparent that the smaller Apple iPhone model is outselling its "Big Brother." The number of iPhone 6 models that has been sold is notably higher than that of the iPhone 6 Plus.
In the report that was published by MixPanel, a chart has been included to display how the sales for both new iPhone models are going. The informational table is also being updated every hour, as the TechCrunch report has cited.
For those who do not have that much of an idea as to what MixPanel is about and what it does, it is actually similar to how Google Analytics for mobile applications as well as site works.
Thanks to Google Analytics, application developers and mobile analytics firm such as MixPanel are able to obtain great and useful insights, especially data that they can use to come up with comparison. According to TechCrunch, this is actually how the mobile analytics firm was able to begin its chart, that compares the rate of sales between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
If you check the comparison table that has been put up by MixPanel on its website, you will see there that, as of yesterday, Sept. 19, 2014, at 4PM Pacific Time, the iPhone 6 model already accounts for around 2.45 percent of all the devices that the analytics firm has seen in use. The iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, only accounts for 0.31 percent. The rest of the 97.24 percent are for the other generations and models of iPhones still in use.
While the numbers that are indicated on the MixPanel chart are only for the first few hours, that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus have hit stores, they already seem to have started a trend. And as more and more time passes by, you will see that the gap in their sales is just getting bigger.
