Donnie McClurkin to Conclude Recording Career with Final Album FINALLY

Donnie McClurkin has announced that his upcoming album, FINALLY, will be his last, marking the close of an extraordinary chapter in his recording career. The 65-year-old gospel icon shared the news via social media, expressing gratitude for decades of ministry through music and signaling a shift toward focusing on his pastoral calling. While an official release date has not been revealed, McClurkin assured fans that FINALLY will be a heartfelt farewell, filled with the same soul, depth, and faith that have defined his career.
Donald Andrew McClurkin Jr., born November 9, 1959, in Copiague, New York, is one of the most celebrated gospel artists of his generation, with over 13 million albums sold worldwide. Over the course of his career, he has received 3 Grammy Awards, 10 Stellar Awards, 2 BET Awards, 2 Soul Train Awards, a Dove Award, and an NAACP Image Award. Often referred to as the "Reigning King of Urban Gospel," McClurkin is known for timeless hits such as "Stand," "We Fall Down," and "Speak to My Heart."
McClurkin's journey into music and ministry was deeply shaped by his early life. After enduring personal tragedy and hardship, he found comfort in the church, mentored by gospel great Andraé Crouch. In his early years, he formed the McClurkin Singers and later the New York Restoration Choir. His self-titled debut album in 1996 propelled him to national prominence, and his 2000 release Live in London and More... dominated gospel charts for over 40 weeks.
Beyond music, McClurkin is the senior pastor of Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, New York, a thriving congregation dedicated to worship and outreach. He also hosts The Donnie McClurkin Show, a syndicated radio program reaching audiences across the United States, and has appeared in films and television programs, including The Gospel, The Fighting Temptations, and BET's Sunday Best.
Though FINALLY will mark the end of his recording career, McClurkin's voice will continue to be heard through preaching, teaching, and community service. Fans can look forward to a project that not only celebrates his legacy but also delivers a final collection of songs to inspire, uplift, and draw listeners closer to God.
