Find Out Why Phil Wickham is Excited About His Duet with Bethel Music's Brandon Lake
Worship leader and songwriter Phil Wickham has released a new video/single, "Where I'm Standing Now." The song, which speaks of how Jesus frees us from the bondages of sin, finds Wickham singing with Bethel Music's Brandon Lake.
"This song has quickly become one of my personal favorites off of the new album largely because of how it has been connecting in live moments," Wickham confesses. "During the last time I led this song, by the time I got to the bridge where it says "Hallelujah I'm Free" I could barely hear my own voice over everyone singing. A group of people declaring their freedom in Jesus together like that made me fall in love with this song in a while new way. I'm so excited to share this video/version with you. Head to my YouTube channel to watch and share!"
Out of the wilderness
Into Your deliverance
Look where I'm standing now
This hands that once was chained
Now lifted high in praise
Look where I'm standing now
Look where I'm standing now
"Where I'm Standing Now" is taken from Wickham's eighth album, Hymn Of Heaven (Fair Trade Services). Encompassing 13 songs, including his multiple-week No. 1 hit "Battle Belongs," the anticipated project is the follow-up to his 2018 release Living Hope, which features the RIAA Gold®-certified single and GMA Dove Award for "Worship Recorded Song of the Year" of the same name. At press time, Hymn Of Heaven is topping the iTunes Christian Album Chart and No. 7 on the overall iTunes Album Chart.
"I just want to write songs that I'd want to sing with my church in a way that musically lights my heart up, and I think I've done that better on this record than I ever have before," Wickham adds, fully comfortable in his artistic skin. "I cannot wait for people to hear this album. I can't wait for these songs to be a part of people's lives."
