Karen Peck & New River Experiences Grammy Moments

Karen Peck & New River enjoyed an exhilarating weekend in California; participating in a variety of events leading up to the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards, held in Los Angeles on February 15th.
GRAMMY moments occur both on and off the show itself. The award-winning Southern Gospel group took pleasure in rubbing elbows with some of music's biggest stars on the red carpet while celebrating their fourth GRAMMY nomination. Among the red carpet attendees was acting legend, Johnny Depp, who performed that evening with the supergroup Hollywood Vampires, featuring Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Depp, a Kentucky native heard Karen Peck & New River giving an interview, and, upon recognizing the deep southern accent, inquired where they were from. Peck and Depp participated in a brief conversation regarding their mutual southern roots that proved to be a highlight of their evening.
Karen Peck also had the pleasure of meeting R&B great, Andra Day, while visiting Amoeba Records in Hollywood. The artists shared a sweet moment congratulating each other on their respective nominations, as well as exchanging well wishes. "I'll be praying for you," said Day, as Peck reciprocated the sentiment. Nominated in two categories that evening, Day also performed her song, 'Rise Up,' with Ellie Goulding on the telecast.
After the Grammy premiere ceremony, Karen Peck and New River caught up with fellow nominees Jason Crabb, Kirk Franklin, J Moss and others in what seemed more like a Dove Awards moment taking place in Los Angeles. Fun and fellowship was had by all.
Karen Peck & New River's 2015 release, Pray Now, garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album, marking the group's fourth nomination to date. Previous nominations include Live At Oak Tree, Ephesians One, and Journey of Joy, all in the Best Southern Gospel/Country/Bluegrass Album of the Year category.
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Monday, February 15, 2016.
