In the previous season of hit TV series Criminal Minds, we bid farewell to Jeanne Tripplehorn. If you are a big fan of the show, then you may have been saddened by the fact that she will no longer appear in the 10^th season. However, according to both sources, it is highly likely that fans will love her replacement.

So here's some Criminal Minds Season 10 latest news for you: it has already been confirmed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will be joining the cast of the popular police procedural TV series, along with Kerr Smith.

In the Criminal Minds Season 10 update from sources, it is said that Hewitt will be playing the role of Kate Callahan whose "a seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit."

According to an interview of Erica Messer, the executive producer of the show,  she mentioned that "Kate is charming and wise for her year." She adds,"Her background is criminal psychology, and her passion comes from wanting to make the world a safe place. She's had a lot of personal loss that makes her a patriot and a nurturing figure to those in her personal and work families." She thinks that Hewitt is a perfect fit for the The Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

Callahan will be helping her associates to investigate crimes in California, specifically murdered victims whose bodies are left unrecognizable.

For those who are not that familiar with Hewitt's career, she starred in quite a number of movies, including "Party of Five", "The Client List", "I Know What You Did Last Summer, "Can't Hardly Wait", and "The Ghost Whisperer". She is also a singer, with four albums under her belt. These albums were released in between the years 1992 and 2002, as the Christian Post has reported.

As for the Criminal Minds Season 10 release date, you don't have to wait much longer as the premier episode will be aired on October 1^st at 9PM on CBS.
