A trial date has been set for former worship pastor and American Idol Season 12 contestant Caleb Flynn, who is facing multiple charges in connection with the death of his wife, Ashley Flynn.
Judge Jeannine Pratt has scheduled the jury trial to begin on May 4, as Flynn continues to maintain his not guilty plea.
The case traces back to Feb. 16, when Flynn called 911, claiming an intruder had entered his home and shot his wife. In the call, he described a chaotic scene, telling the dispatcher that Ashley had been shot in the head and that there was "blood everywhere."
Authorities arrested Flynn three days later. On March 19, a grand jury indicted him on a series of serious charges, including one count of aggravated murder, three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, multiple counts of tampering with evidence, and intimidation related to the case.
Ashley Flynn, 37, was a mother of two daughters and deeply involved in her community. She worked with LifeWise Academy, served as a substitute teacher and volleyball coach, and volunteered at her church.
Although no longer employed as a worship pastor at the time of the incident, Flynn remained active as a worship leader at his church in Dayton, Ohio, while also working in a leadership role at his father-in-law's business.
New developments have continued to surface ahead of the trial. A witness list released in April includes individuals connected to Flynn's church, including his pastor and a former worship pastor who resigned shortly after his arrest. Speculation has also circulated regarding a possible prior relationship between Flynn and the former staff member.
With the May trial approaching, the case is drawing heightened attention, particularly given Flynn's background in ministry and public life. The upcoming proceedings are expected to bring greater clarity to the events surrounding Ashley Flynn's death.
