Worship leader Charity Gayle is recovering after being hospitalized following a tour bus accident over the weekend, according to an official statement released by her team.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning, April 18, as Gayle and her team were traveling from Michigan to Tennessee. During the journey, the bus veered off the road, went over an embankment, and came to rest in a ditch. Despite the severity of the accident, the team emphasized what they described as divine protection in the outcome.
"By God's grace and protection the bus did not flip over and the team feels extremely blessed," the statement reads.
Following the accident, Gayle was transported to a local hospital where she was evaluated and treated for a concussion. She has since been released and is currently resting. No other members of the touring party required medical attention at the scene.
In light of the incident, several scheduled tour dates have been postponed to allow time for recovery. The April 19 concert in Warner Robins, Georgia, along with April 20 in Ormond Beach, Florida, and April 21 in Fort Myers, Florida, will be rescheduled. Her team confirmed they are actively working with promoters and host churches to secure new dates, with updates to be communicated directly to ticket holders.
"We ask that you prayerfully lift up Charity and her tour team as they rest, recover, and reset," the statement concludes. "Thankful for Jesus."

News of the accident has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and fellow artists, many of whom have taken to social media to express gratitude for the team's safety and to offer prayers for Gayle's recovery.
