Sherlock season 4 release date is rumored to be premiered on 2016. Hence, the fans of BBC television adaptation of Sherlock Holmes are very excited about it. The positive reactions from the fans plus the great feedback from them makes everything so obvious that there would be Sherlock season 4.

Steve Mofatt, Sherlock's producer, is actually busy and fully-scheduled with his transactions and appointment because of another successful television series, Doctor Who. However, Mark Gatiss, series creator appeared during the BAFTA Television Awards and tell something about the progression of the season 4 production of the series.

He said, "I can officially tell you that we are moving closer to agreeing some dates to shoot. If that sounds like a party line, it is. That is proper progress because Ben and Martin and Steven are so busy, but actually trying to get everybody to interlock is ... we have made significant progress." Eventhough no official release date yet for season 4, this will still surely be released during Christmas season which makes this season a Christmas special.

One of the main reasons why Sherlock series doesn't have exact date yet for the release is the fact that the casts are still too busy about their individual projects as well as appointments with some other projects. Based on the reports gathered, Benedict Cumberbatch, who happened to have the leading role, is busy working with the latest Star Wars Movie. Because of this, he won't be available for the season 4 production. However, Cumberbatch is the sole Sherlock on the list. So, if it's too impossible for having him then there are still other resorts.
