After fifteen years away from releasing music as a recording artist, former Hillsong Church Atlanta lead pastor Sam Collier is returning to music with his brand-new single, That's What I'm Here For, set to debut February 27 via Story Records and Rolling Out Music.
Written and produced by acclaimed producer Kendrick Dean for The Dean's List, Inc., alongside Collier, the song marks a significant personal and creative turning point for the pastor, author, speaker, and now returning recording artist.
Collier first gained national attention as the lead pastor of Hillsong Atlanta, becoming one of the most visible figures within the church's American expansion. In 2022, he stepped away from the organization amid wider leadership controversies, later launching Story Church in Atlanta and continuing ministry through speaking, media, and teaching initiatives.
Beyond pastoral ministry, Collier is known for founding "A Greater Story Ministries," hosting interview-based media projects, and authoring his book A Greater Story: My Rescue, Your Purpose, and Our Place in God's Plan, reflecting his ongoing emphasis on faith, identity, and purpose.
Now, music returns as a central expression of that journey. Collier shared that two years ago he sensed a renewed spiritual release to pursue music again, followed by a clear conviction this past December that the moment to return had arrived. The upcoming single captures that sense of calling and renewed purpose, blending testimony with contemporary gospel and inspirational influences.
