Award-winning composer for TV and film, producer, and songwriter Tommee Profitt returns with his most ambitious and spiritually charged project to date. Titled The Resurrection of a King, the cinematic album will release March 27, 2026, just in time for the Easter season, delivering a sweeping musical proclamation of the gospel story centered on the victory of Christ.
Launching the project is the powerful lead single "He Arose," featuring worship leader Phil Wickham. Reimagined from the classic hymn "Up from the Grave He Arose," the track fuses modern worship intensity with Profitt's signature orchestral scale, setting the tone for an album that is both reverent and explosive.
"This album felt commissioned," Profitt shares. "Not just inspired - commissioned. These hymns carry eternal truth, and my goal was to reintroduce them with the weight, awe, and authority they deserve. 'He Arose' is the perfect declaration to begin that journey."
Wickham adds, "This song is massive. It's epic, it's worshipful, and it celebrates the risen King Jesus in a way that feels both ancient and urgent. I'm deeply honored to be part of it."
The Resurrection of a King functions as a cinematic soundtrack to the Easter narrative, weaving together beloved hymns such as "The Old Rugged Cross," "Jesus Paid It All," "Just As I Am," and "Amazing Grace." Each track is re-envisioned through sweeping orchestration, modern production, and emotionally charged performances, drawing listeners into the story of sacrifice, redemption, and resurrection.
The project features an all-star lineup across worship, gospel, and Christian music, including CeCe Winans, Crowder, Jenn Johnson, Jon Reddick, Ben Fuller, Jamie MacDonald, Jordan Smith, Fleurie, Anthony Evans Jr., and more - representing one of the most expansive collaborative worship projects of the year.
The album follows Profitt's monumental Christmas release, The Birth of a King, which has surpassed 200 million global streams and become one of the most successful modern holiday worship albums in the market. Since 2020, The Birth of a King has also evolved into a globally recognized live concert experience. In 2026, Profitt will return to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for two nights of the event, following a sold-out 12,000-person performance last year featuring a 50-piece orchestra, 100-voice choir, and full band.
With more than 100 billion lifetime global streams, 300+ major sync placements, and 49 RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications, Profitt continues to redefine the intersection of faith, film, and modern music culture. His work has powered global campaigns, chart-topping releases, and landmark moments - yet The Resurrection of a King stands as his clearest artistic and theological statement yet.
