Christian pop artist Claire Leslie is stepping boldly into a new creative season with her official acting debut in Wonder Project's upcoming scripted series It's Not Like That, streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The series premieres January 25, with new episodes releasing weekly through March 8.

It's Not Like That is a character-driven drama/romance that explores themes of grief, healing, faith, and unexpected love. The series centers on Lori (Kristin Rusk Robinson), a recently divorced woman, and Malcolm (Ian Deitchman), a widowed minister, whose longstanding friendship begins to take on new emotional weight as they navigate singlehood later in life. According to IMDb, the story follows the pair-along with the teenagers in their lives-as they wrestle with loss, hope, and the possibility that what they have always called friendship may be something more.

Leslie announced her involvement in the series on social media, sharing her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity. "I'm making my acting debut on Wonder Project's upcoming TV series It's Not Like That on Prime Video. I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth... WHAT?!?" she wrote. "I've had a passion for acting and improv from a young age, and getting to step into this world with Wonder Project's team has been nothing short of a blessing. They are as legit as it gets."

While known primarily for her music, Leslie's move into acting reflects a natural extension of her creative instincts. Her songwriting has long leaned toward storytelling, emotional vulnerability, and relational honesty-qualities that align seamlessly with the tone of It's Not Like That. The series marks her first on-screen acting role and signals a willingness to explore new forms of artistic expression while remaining rooted in faith-centered storytelling.

The acting debut follows a milestone year for Leslie in music. In 2024, she released her debut EP Twenty Something, a coming-of-age project that resonated strongly with young listeners navigating adulthood, uncertainty, and identity. The EP features fan-favorite tracks "Passenger Seat," "Scared," and "Original," songs praised for their candid lyrics, infectious pop sensibility, and spiritual undercurrents.

Leslie continued building momentum with the release of her latest single, "Always Mine," in October. The song showcases a more confident, settled perspective-both musically and thematically-highlighting her growth as an artist while maintaining the emotional transparency that has endeared her to fans. "Always Mine" is currently available on all major streaming platforms.

In addition to new music and her acting debut, Leslie recently wrapped up a successful run opening for Josiah Queen and Hulvey on the Campus Night Tour, bringing her music to college audiences across the country. The tour further solidified her reputation as a compelling live performer and one of Christian pop's emerging voices to watch.

With It's Not Like That set to introduce her to a broader audience and new creative possibilities on the horizon, Claire Leslie's latest chapter reflects both courage and calling-embracing growth while staying grounded in the gifts that first inspired her journey.
