Legendary NFL quarterback Brett Favre shared a heartfelt message of faith on Christmas Day, publicly giving glory to Jesus Christ and expressing his desire for his life to honor the Lord.

The former Green Bay Packers star took to social media to wish followers a Merry Christmas and reflect on how his focus has shifted from football accolades to faith in Christ.

"For more than 20 years I put my hands up in celebration on the gridiron. Now, I put my hands up to the One that gave me all my talents and abilities - the King of my life, Jesus Christ," Favre wrote. "I've never claimed to be perfect, but my aim is for the direction of my life to honor Christ and I pray my faith increases."

Favre continued by encouraging others to consider placing their trust in Christ, regardless of how they were spending the holiday season.

"So I do want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, whether you're solo, with family, or friends, and if you haven't done so, put your faith in Him who can save, Jesus Christ," he added, quoting Ephesians 2:8-9, which emphasizes salvation by grace through faith as a gift from God.

The post quickly resonated with followers, prompting an outpouring of supportive responses. One commenter wrote, "Great message Brett. Grace and peace to you. Matthew 18:3." Another added, "Hallelujah! What a Savior! That's a great testimony, thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your family!"

Favre's Christmas message comes amid ongoing health challenges. In September, CBS Sports reported that the Pro Football Hall of Famer has been battling Parkinson's disease. Favre has since spoken openly about the condition, explaining that while tremors are commonly associated with Parkinson's, his primary symptoms involve rigidity and stiffness.

Despite these challenges, Favre's Christmas Day message stood as a testimony of gratitude, humility, and hope - pointing fans beyond his storied football career to what he described as the true source of his strength and purpose: faith in Jesus Christ.
