Communities across the nation are being asked to join in urgent prayer for Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe, the West Virginia National Guardsman critically wounded during the November 26 ambush near the Farragut West Metro Station in Washington, D.C. His family is pleading for a miracle as Andrew continues to fight for his life in the ICU following emergency surgery.
According to multiple reports, Wolfe and fellow Guardswoman Specialist Sarah Beckstrom were attacked without warning while off duty, just blocks from the White House. Beckstrom tragically succumbed to her injuries, while Wolfe remains in critical condition. Federal investigators have since upgraded charges against the alleged gunman, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, to first-degree murder, as the FBI continues to assess possible motives behind the assault. The attack has quickly become a national flashpoint, prompting statements from lawmakers, law-enforcement officials, and military leaders nationwide.
Wolfe's family, surrounded by a growing wave of support, is appealing to the faith community for intercession. "We need a miracle," a family representative said. "Andrew is fighting, and we are asking everyone who believes in the power of prayer to stand with us for complete healing."
A public prayer has been released for those wishing to join in united intercession:
"God... we humbly come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. And we ask for a miracle of complete healing and recovery for Andrew. We declare LIFE over him right now, and we ask You to comfort his family-give them peace beyond understanding. We ask that You would turn this tragedy the enemy meant for evil into something good, like only You can do.
And we pray for protection over all members of the National Guard, ICE, Border Patrol, and every law-enforcement officer who leaves their family each day to protect and serve us. In Jesus' name, Amen."
The attack has sparked widespread reaction. A moment of silence was held at the recent West Virginia University football game in honor of Wolfe and Beckstrom, while citizens, church communities, and military families across the country continue to raise prayers and support. National outlets report that Wolfe is "hanging on" as doctors work to stabilize him.
Supporters are encouraged to share this request, mobilize prayer groups, and continue lifting Andrew and his family before God during this critical time.
