Cory Asbury and Forrest Frank’s Alternative Super Bowl Halftime Show Is No Longer Happening

Worship artist Cory Asbury and singer-producer Forrest Frank have officially announced that their much-anticipated faith-based alternative to the Super Bowl Halftime Show will no longer take place.

Initially envisioned as a "family-friendly, Jesus-centered halftime experience" to coincide with next year's Super Bowl, the project-nicknamed Halftime for Heaven-had generated widespread excitement among fans and Christian music supporters. The idea was to create a worship-filled event running parallel to the NFL's halftime broadcast, offering believers a wholesome and faith-focused alternative.

However, Asbury confirmed via social media that the project has been shelved for now. "We dreamed big, prayed hard, and explored every option," he shared. "But after much consideration, we've decided not to move forward with the event this year. It wasn't the right time, and we want to ensure that anything we do is done with excellence and unity."

Frank echoed Asbury's sentiment, expressing gratitude to supporters who rallied behind the vision: "We're so thankful for everyone who caught the heart behind this idea. Even though this particular event isn't happening, our mission to glorify Jesus through music and creativity hasn't changed."

While Halftime for Heaven will not proceed in 2026, both artists hinted that the dream isn't over. Asbury concluded, "Maybe one day the timing will align and we'll get to see it happen in a way that truly honors God."

Fans are encouraged to stay connected with both artists on social media for updates on future collaborations and worship events.
