Chris Tomlin Achieves Record-Breaking Streaming Week with New Album "The King Is Still The King"

GRAMMY-award winning artist Chris Tomlin has reached a major milestone with the release of his 18th studio album, The King Is Still The King, achieving the largest global streaming week of his 25+ year career (Sept. 26 - Oct. 2, 2026). The album also debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart this week.
"Never would I have dreamed after so many albums that this would be my biggest streaming week yet," said Tomlin. "This is incredibly special to me. All I've ever wanted is to help give people a voice to worship God. It's why I write songs and pray they connect with people and help them in their relationship with Him."
Reflecting on the album's title, Tomlin added, "What I love most in this moment is that worship reminds us of the greater story. It lifts our eyes off ourselves and our circumstances and reminds us that our hope is in an everlasting kingdom and everlasting King... and that 'The King is Still the King.'"
Tomlin also acknowledged his team's role in the achievement: "There are no lone rangers here. Music is a team sport, and I am blessed to have an amazing team that pours their heart and soul into this music with me. Thank you and congratulations to each of you!"
Brad O'Donnell, President of Capitol Christian Music Group, praised the milestone: "We've had a long and fruitful partnership with Chris, and we're so proud to see him hit this milestone. It's an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the impact his songs have on people around the world. With The King Is Still The King, there's no doubt there's much more ahead, and we look forward to an even brighter future together."
The 30x GMA Dove Award winner continues to expand his influence, releasing global hits, earning No. 1 singles, and selling out tours and arenas including Bridgestone Arena, Dickies Arena, Honda Center, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He is currently on his fall headlining tour, An Evening of Worship with Chris Tomlin.
2026 has been a landmark year for Tomlin. Highlights include launching the Worship Under the Stars concert series in Central Park, serving as Executive Producer for the movie The Last Supper, writing music for Amazon Prime's House of David, and being featured in The First Hymn documentary. He also sold out Bridgestone Arena for Good Friday Nashville, broadcast nationally on K-LOVE.
Tomlin's current single, How Good It Is, marks his largest debut since 2020, while his 21st No. 1 single, Holy Forever, released in 2022, was recently certified Platinum and continues to be sung in churches worldwide. Earlier this year, he collaborated with Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll for the first-ever Easter Spotify Single, further solidifying his influence in contemporary worship music.
With The King Is Still The King, Chris Tomlin continues to inspire audiences worldwide, helping people lift their voices in worship and celebrate the enduring hope found in God's kingdom.
