The album that speaks directly to the listener, reminding them of their inherent value. Walls, a singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas, is known for his ability to craft songs from real-life experiences, and this album is no exception.
Think About Me is now available on all major streaming and digital platforms.
Q: "Think About Me" deals with themes of self-worth and identity. What inspired you to focus on these topics for this project?
Before I started writing Christian music I was doing pop music and it was always a race to see who was the best, who had more money, more fame, more of everything and if you didn't have that you were worthless, but God sees us differently. He loves us so much, and the things this world can give us are nothing compared to what our God thinks about us.
Q: Your music often reflects real-life experiences. Can you share a personal story behind one of the songs on this multi-single?
My song 'Free' was very personal, I used to think that if I honestly didn't crave success and material things I was doing things wrong and was a failure, but the song talks about craving Jesus instead. He's the only one who can free us from world desires and things not of Him.
Q: How did your collaboration with Xander Sallows on "Blue Skies" come about, and what was it like working together?
I was always starstruck by the quality and lyricism behind all of Xanders music, and I have been listening to His stuff for a long time before we even met. I reached out to Him on instagram to feature on a song and he liked it enough he wanted to collab, so we wrote our parts and amped up the production to make it a really cool track, and now the world has 'Blue Skies'. Xander is such a cool guy with a big heart for the Lord. It was really fun making that track with Him. I would even say that song and Xander gave me my start in the Christian Music space.
Q: You mention that your worth is defined by how God sees us rather than the world. How do you hope listeners will be encouraged or changed by this message?
Honestly I hope and pray it's just a constant reflection point in their daily lives, God loves them so much, and there is so much more than what the world says about you. We live in a world where Anxiety, Depression, and all kinds of negative emotional and mental things can make people feel they aren't worth anything, I pray that through these songs they are able to see they aren't alone, and that there is a Father in Heaven who you are an important person to.
Q: The sound of the project blends catchy pop melodies with profound messages. How do you balance making music that is both radio-friendly and deeply meaningful?
I grew up listening to Pop music and I loved the danceability, and the just the catchiness of it, but honestly I feel like a simple message can be displayed in a simple song- when your heart is in it, it becomes deep.
Q: What's next for you after the release of Think About Me? Are there upcoming projects or performances fans should look out for?
Absolutely, I am working on many projects. I have a new single Dropping on August 29th called 'Dry Bones' and I'm super excited about that one.
