Tauren Wells Reveals How His Song Ministered to a Mother Who Has Cancer
Earlier this year, Tauren Wells released his signature song "Famous For (I Believe)" which also features accompanying vocals by Bethel Music's Jenn Johnson. Wells co-wrote the song with Alexis Slifer, Chuck Butler, Jordan Sapp, and Krissy Nordhoff.Chuck Butler collaborated with Jordan Sapp on producing the single. The song has brought hope to a couple, Carson and Alexis Butcher. Alexis was not only pregnant, but she was also suffering from cancer. The song brought her so much hope as she struggled for her and her baby's lives.
"This song has become even more important and is a real-time display of God supplying what we need before we even know we need it," Wells revealed.
He continued, "Alexis and her incredible husband Carson just had a baby girl. However, this was no typical pregnancy or birth. While pregnant Alexis was diagnosed with cancer. They had to take the baby early because of chemo treatments Alexis was undergoing...of course God did what He is famous for and brought their beautiful baby girl safely into the world.
BUT Alexis is still battling cancer. We know that God is the great physician and that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. We are declaring this over Alexis' life!! While we pray we can also GIVE. There is a giving link in my bio to contribute to this family God is miraculously building.
It's crazy to me that God gave this girl the song she wrote in one season that would be the song she needed in the next!! This #1 is just more significant than the others and it really has nothing to do with me. Thanks for letting me declare your song @alexiskbutcher!! #famousfor."

"Famous For (I Believe)" peaked at No. 3 on the US Hot Christian Songs chart, registering as Well's sixth and Johnson's first top ten single.[3] The song also went on to peak at No. 15 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, thus becoming the highest-charting single for both acts. "Famous For (I Believe)" has garnered a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
