Foo Fighters Agree to Play Concert Crowd-Funded by Virginia Fan

Sometimes fans do crazy things to get their favorite bands attention and it goes without notice, but one Foo Fighters fan in Richmond, Virginia had a good plan and it looks like it has worked.

Andrew Goldin started an online campaign to bring the Foo Fighters to his city to do a concert.

The campaign's fundraising page reads: "It's simple. The Foo Fighters haven't played Richmond, Virginia since May 17, 1998. That's more than 15 years ago and that's way too long. So we're taking it upon ourselves to bring 'em back!". The 'Help Bring The Foo Fighters Back To RVA' campaign site is selling 1,400 tickets at $50 a ticket.

The Foo Fighters addressed the situation on twitter replying simply, "See ya soon". No official date for the show has been announced.

The Foo Fighters announced recently that they are finishing up their eighth studio album and have now revealed the yet-to-be-titled record will officially be out in November.

The band has revealed that the album is longer than any of their previously albums and may also feature horns for the first time, Grohl says, "Like, I couldn't just write a three-and-a-half-minute long KROQ jingle and film it for the finale of an episode about the history of music in New Orleans, ya know? We really had to step up what we do. The music is a progression or an evolution for sure, but it's a Foo Fighters record."

Grohl continues: "You'll recognise Foo Fighters in this record but you'll also be surprised by us. We're doing things that we've never done before. Honestly, there are sections of songs that will really take you by surprise."

The Foo Fighters have officially confirmed some details for their highly-anticipated eighth studio album which will serve as the follow-up to 2011′s Wasting Light and be released through Roswell/RCA Records.

Singer, Dave Grohl, has announced he will be premiering a new HBO series that will document Foo Fighters recording a different legendary studios in eight different cities including Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York. The album release will come out around the same time as the HBO series airs in the Fall.

The first episode of the new HBO series will premiere on the eve of Foo Fighter's 20th anniversary as a band. Grohl also served as director for the project. More details to come soon.
