Bethel Music's Cory Asbury Debuts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums

Cory Asbury

Bethel Music's Cory Asbury's new solo album "Reckless Love" debuts at #1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums this week. The album moved 11,000 units last week.

Meanwhile, the lead single and title cut "Reckless Love" jumps into the Top 10, landing on the 7th position from #14 last week. "Reckless" enters Christian Streaming Songs at No. 10 (1.1 million U.S. streams), giving Asbury his maiden top 10 on that tally, as well. The song also surges by 67 percent to 2 million audience impressions and darts 33-27 on Christian Airplay.

The title track has been making its way into churches around the globe and building steadily at radio with 15 stations across the U.S. already spinning "Reckless Love" three weeks before the impact date.

"I had to become a father to learn how to be a son," shares Asbury. "On the journey from boyhood to manhood there were a million cracks in the road. But somehow the grace of God swooped in with wings otherworldly and carried me safely over each one. Now I'm a father to my own little boy. And somehow, in so becoming, I'm a little child again. Fully free and fully alive in my Father's eyes."

Asbury joined Bethel Music three years ago and was featured on the collective's Have it Allalbum. His previous solo releases include worship anthems such as "Where I Belong," "So Good to Me," "Always Faithful" and "Jesus, Let Me See Your Eyes." Asbury serves as the Worship Pastor at the Radiant Church in Michigan where he and his wife Anna have a family of three.
