Gospel Trio Virtue Receives Two Stellar Award nominations
Pioneering, Urban Gospel, sister trio, Virtue, are relishing in the recent news of their two Stellar Award nominations for Group/Duo of the Year and Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year for the release of their 7th critically acclaimed studio album FEARLESS, for the 32nd Annual Stellar Awards, which will be held in Las Vegas on March 25th at the New Orleans arena.
FEARLESS was released on February 26th, 2016 via Mixed Bag Entertainment and debuted at #3 on Billboard's Top Gospel Album charts and remained in that position for second consecutive week, making it Virtue's highest career debut to date, proving the ladies not only looked and sounded better than ever, but their presence had been missed. The album spawned hits like "You Are," which spent eight consecutive weeks in the Top 20 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay and MediaBase Gospel Airplay charts, the pulsating, smash "Walk It Out," and the refreshingly updated Clark Sisters remake, "Miracle," which reached Top 25 on the radio charts.
The success of the album propelled the 3 blood sisters to land several high profile appearances such as; "News One Now with Roland Martin", The Stellar Awards, 2016 Essence Festival, BET's Lift Every Voice, BET's Joyful Noise with Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin's "20 Years In One Night, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, The Willie Moore Jr Show, Nightly Spirit with Darlene McCoy, among many others.
Ebony Holland, Karima Kibble, and Heather Martin will also celebrate another extraordinary career milestone approaching this year with the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut project, which was released on Verity Records in April of '97 that spawned 3 hit singles "Let The Redeemed," "Greatest Part of Me," and "I Must Tell Jesus." To date, this CD has sold over 100,000 copies and is still a favorite among Gospel music lovers to this day and also featured original members, Negelle Green Morris and Shavonne Floyd Sampson.
Virtue is one of the best selling Gospel girl groups of all time with career sales in the upwards of nearly 500,000 copies. Heather Martin exclaims, "We are just so happy and blessed to still do what we love to do all these years later and to do it with your family is just icing on the cake. We are over the moon about our two Stellar nominations and of course it's always wonderful to be nominated, but it would be great to take one or both home! But either way, God gets all the glory and we will continue to spread the message of Jesus Christ until he returns!"
