Smartphone manufacturers are being very aggressive in the competitive market with technological advancements, and now it is very difficult to differentiate the winner. Big names like Sony and Samsung are rapidly releasing their best offers with big releases. Recently, Galaxy Alpha in the Samsung platform and Xperia Z3 in the Sony arena have been added to the market. Let's have a quick review of both the devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha comes with excellent display features that include 4.7-inch display screen size adorned by 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The pixel density is decently provided with 312 pixels per inch with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen type display. Meanwhile the new member of Sony Z series Xperia Z3 Compact incudes a 4.6-inch display size that is provided with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The pixel density is eye catching with 319 pixels per inch. The display type is the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that is assisted by the X-Reality Engine that enhances the color quality further more.

The Galaxy Alpha features 12MP back camera sensor while the front camera is equipped with 2.2MP sensor. The smaller twin of Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact is packed with extreme 20.7MP primary camera and 2.2MP secondary camera. Rear camera can record video of 2160p, 1080p, 720p respectively at 30fps, 60fps, and 120fps for both the smartphones.

The hardware segment brings satisfactory regulation for both the devices. Galaxy Alpha is powered by Exynos 5 Octa chipset while Xperia Z3 Compact is provided with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset. Quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex A-15 and Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 feature the processor for Galaxy Alpha whereas Z3 Compact has Quad-Core 2.5 GHz krait 400 processor. Different chips in each device arrange the GPU segment where Galaxy Alpha is provided by Mali T628 MP6 GPU emulator and Xperia Z3 Compact is equipped with Adreno 330 chip.

The RAM slot is filled by 2GB of RAM for each of the device but Galaxy Alpha has internal storage upto 32GB but lacks the external memory storage facility while Xperia Z3 Compact offers 16GB internal storage along with 128GB memory expandable provision by microSD card slot.

Both the devices run on Android version 4.4.4(KitKat) but Xperia Z3 Compact is planned to upgrade to Android 5.0 but no announcement has been made about the update for Galaxy Alpha.
