Android smartphones has been ruling the market for a long time now. However, Windows can still catch up. Windows smartphones have quite adapted well with advanced models. Let's review two different operating system based mid-range smartphones Nokia Lumia 830 and HTC Desire 820.
Lumia 820 presents a 5.0-inch display that streams 720 x 1280-pixel resolution. The display type is Lumia iconic IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that contains moderate amount of pixels density with 294 pixels per inch. The display glass is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and features Clear Black display. HTC Desire 820 offers half an inch greater display sacrificing the pixel density a bit. The device is framed in 5.5-inch display that offers 720 x 1280 pixels resolution where pixel density drops down to 267 pixels per inch. The display type LCD capacitive touchscreen with built in HTC Sense version 6 user interface.
Microsoft has recently released Lumia 735 that is promoted as the ultimate selfie smartphone whereas Lumia 830 comes with better rear camera but lacks the desired front camera pixel intensity. Lumia 830 represents 10MP rear camera sensor that is coupled with only 0.9MP front camera. Meanwhile, Desire 820 might lack the display quality but comes with extreme camera quality with 13MP primary camera and stunning 8MP front facing camera. So this smartphone will surely catch the eye of selfie lovers.
The hardware specification clearly keeps the HTC Desire 820 ahead with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset assisted with Quad-Core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-Core 1.0GHz Cortex-A53 processor. Other contestant battles with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset that comes with Quad-Core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. Lumia 830 possesses Adreno 305 GPU whereas HTC Desire 820 leads with updated Adreno 405 GPU chip.
The memory segment for both handsets contains similar storage facility with 16GB of internal storage and 128GB of external storage provision. HTC Desire 820 wins the race of RAM slot with 2GB of RAM while Lumia 830 is packed with 1GB of RAM. Desire 820 operates on Android version 4.4.2KitKat while Lumia 830 runs on Windows 8.1. NDTV reports exclusively that the unreleased HTC Desire 820 will be priced at $450 while Lumia 830 costs around $400.
