Google Nexus 6: Is $650 Too Much?

Since Nexus' debut in 2010, the line has already distinguished itself from other smartphones in two ways- it's a vessel of the wonders of Android and it's incredibly affordable.

The newest release, the Nexus 6, is a whole lot of a different deal. Its display is 5.9-inch large, enough to consider the Nexus 7 tab obsolete. However, the display isn't the only thing that improved; its price tag too that costs to $650. While this figure appears too much to our ears and pockets, this is totally perfect and reasonable for the features it carries as a smartphone. Well, anyone is willing to pay this much for a unit of Galaxy S5 and approximately $100 more for the beloved iPhone 6.

The Nexus line of smartphones generally, has carried the 'giant' name of "the" search engine, but the fact is Google didn't actually manufacture these devices. It has been delegated to other smarthphone manufacturers like LG, Samsung, and HTC - who've produced Nexus in the past.

Both Nexus 4 and 5 were manufactured by LG but the fans have understood that it is already time to trust another big name- Motorola. The Wall Street Journal has even confirmed that reliable sources have revealed that Nexus 6 will be marketed with the famous "hello moto" greeting upon its launch anytime this month.

In terms of design, the new smartphone looks very similar to Motorola's devices in terms of shape like that of Moto X (2014) and Moto G (2014) while its screen appearance looks distinctly like the Android series. This has strengthened the speculations that Motorola is indeed behind this newest Google smartphone.

Nexus 6, famously called "the Shamu," can be the very first device to operate Google's newest version of the operating system  'Android L'. Giovani Calabrese, the Android sculpture at Google headquarters said, it's more likely to point to 'Android Liquorice'.

'Android L' has already arrived hence, 'the Shamu' is well on its way too. Rumors have even revealed that it'll be launched alongside Nexus 9 tablets.

The Nexus series has grown and its audiences aren't only hardcore developers and Android nerds anymore. Google does not even have to exaggerate its business to welcome it. 'The Shamu' cost a lot more than its previous models so many are wondering how well it will do in the marker.

Watch the sneak peek of Nexus 6 below and decide if it's worth the price.
