In the third episode, Peter Mills found out that he still has trauma from the explosion incident that happened at the warehouse. The trauma that clings in his mind can put his work in trouble. Both Firehouse 51 and Firehouse 105 also faced the challenge of the consequences that followed by a serious accident. Two trucks had clashed on their way to a fire. Firehouse 51 is in trouble with the police.
Chief Boden contacted Lieutenant Matthew Casey for he had a notion on how they could have Gabriella Dawson on the fire truck. Joe Cruz, Mouch, and Otis looked for a food truck because they want to begin their food truck idea for Molly's 2. But then, the first cost was a bit pricey. Then they received a call that a fire was happening so they stopped their meeting. On their way, truck 81 collided with truck 66.
Lieutenant Kelley Severide, Gabriella Dawson and Sylvie Brett were sent out to the scene. It was a relief for Gabby to know that her fiancée Casey was in good condition. No one was very much injured in Truck 81, except for Mouch. His eye was bleeding. At Truck 81, someone had a broken leg. Another had a broken arm. Welch was not hurt. Jason Molina had his legs injured and he had very weak pulse. Welch and the boys of Truck 66 blamed Joe. Peter Mills fainted on the street and was relieved by Rick Newhouse. Jason was brought to the hospital.
At the hospital, Mouch discovers that he had a corneal abrasion. His vision would be restored later on. Boden instructed the truckmen to go home and rest. Casey stopped to tell Gabby that Boden was eager to direct their relationship. Chief Boden and Chief Tyburg showed Casey and Joe camera footage. It showed Joe running a red light for he had broken his controlled halt. Tyburg told Joe to get a criminal lawyer due to potential manslaughter charges if Jason would not wake up. Joe and Welch butt heads. Christopher suggested that the teams join forces to throw a fundraising party at Molly's. Peter had a check-up and he was informed that he cannot go on duty because of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. This is a result of the recent explosion.
Otis would drive the truck, Joe was suspended of the driving task. Newhouse appeared with a food truck for Mouch and Joe. His condition is that he becomes a partner in Molly's 2. Peter went to meet his grandfather, who has a stage four cancer. Joe doubted himself because of what had happened. Casey told him not to doubt himself.
After the fundraiser's success, Gabby informed them that she was going to be a candidate for Truck 81, according to The Christian Times. Molina also woke up and talked with the doctors. Molina admitted that Welch told him to beat Truck 81 and it caused the accident. The money was given to Molina's wife. In Celebdirtylaundry, Peter realizes that they would be lacking a paramedic so he asked Chief Boden if he could take Gabby's slot.
