'Halo 5: Guardians' Release Date Set on Fourth Quarter of 2015; Agent Locke to Replace Master Chief as the Primary Character

Shooting buffs will have another game to add on their must-purchase video game of 2015, as the best 'first-person shooter' game of the century, Halo's new edition is set to release next year.

In a report, Christian Post said that "Halo 5: Guardians" is currently underway and was given an indefinite release date on 2015. The game's developer 343 Industries said the date of release for the game's fifth edition is within fourth quarter of next year.

Though "Halo 5" has no definite release date yet, 343 Industries has good news for the video game's fans and players. Bonnie Ross, 343 Industries' head, announced that a beta version of "Halo 5: Guardians" will be available on December.

"The sequel is reported to arrive in the shelves in the QA 2015. However, before this year ends, Halo fans will still be able to get their hands on the game this Christmas season."

Creating a beta version of "Halo 5" and releasing it earlier than the game's release is the developer's way of getting feedbacks from the Guardian's players. 343 Industries reportedly wanted to 'make sure that they are building the multiplayer' that the fans would want to play.

On the other hand, Ecumenical News reported that Master Chief will not be the main character for "Halo 5: Guardians." Master Chief will remain playable and is said to still have an integral role in the game's newest edition.

"The Master Chief remains an integral part of the game's story and as a playable character," Microsoft spokesperson said in a recent interview. Microsoft also confirmed that Agent Locke will be the primary character in "Halo 5."

Gamespot reported that Mike Colter, the actor playing Agent Locke, also confirmed that the character will be a playable persona in "Halo 5" and will be the game's primary character. Colter also hinted that Agent Locke can either be a friend or a foe of Master Chief.

"Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character." The actor also announced that his character will have new set of artilleries and enhanced skills as Agent Locke will be a "Spartan IV" already in "Halo 5."
