'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Oct. 8 Premiere Breaks Show's Record For Viewership!
Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's anthology series "American Horror Story" begins its most recent season with subtitled Freak Show after three seasons of unfamiliar settings that vary from haunted house to a mental asylum.
In its fourth season premiere, the setting is held in Jupiter, Florida in 1952 with a brand new story about a traveling freak show.
"American Horrror Story: Freak Show's" main cast also consists of actors with truly extraordinary bodies. Elsa Mars' sideshow attractions portrayed by Jessica Lange together with actors like Evan Peters and Kathy Bates wearing prosthetics and facial hair. Other characters include Jyoti Amge who portrays the role of Ma. Petite, Elsa's warmhearted-nicknamed assistant. Actor and English musician Mat Fraser plays Paul the Illustrated Seal who was born with an extremely rare congenital disorder resutlting to malformation of both arms. Model Erika Ervin acts as her alter ego Amazon Eve and Rose Siggins who is a double amputee, plays the character named Legless Suzi.
The premiere of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" broke the show's viewership record with a whooping 6.127 million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode, "Monsters Among Us", earning a 3.1 rating among adults 18-49, as Deadline reports.
The impressive ratings for the premiere can be credited to the influence of American Horror Story's appealing teasers that got everyone curious about seeing a show with these unusual stars with unique and unfamiliar characters, which draws attention to the viewers. It shows a 10% increase in viewers from the 5.54 million viewers who watched the season premiere of American Horror Story: Coven last year, which was declared a series-high record for American Horror Story's most-watched broadcast at that time.
The premiere of season 4 of "American Horror Story" had a fierce start as the story begin to roll when the conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler found themselves stuck in big trouble after the suspicous death of their own mother. The "lobster boy" Jimmy Darling portrayed by Evan Peters was thrust to the edge by Jupiter's attempt to bully his family of freaks and the vicious Twisty the Clown got stranded into a series of murders and kidnappings.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premiered on FX on Oct. 8, Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. The next episode is yet to be seen and it draws out attention from the viewers because of the of the story's mixture of intrigue, show business and death making everyone thrilled with suspense for the next episode.
