Lego Batman Spinoff On Its Way: 2017 Release Confirmed!

Lego Batman fans will be thrilled to hear the good news. The Lego embodiment of Batman became so popular in the hit movie "The Lego Movie" that he is going to have his own movie. Earlier this year, "The Lego Movie" grossed $468 million globally, which Lego Batman was showcased as one of the movie highlights. Considering that everyone knows and loves Batman, the film was recognized as an all-around good movie, as per The Verge.

"The Lego Movie" voice cast includes Will Arnett as the Caped Crusader. With his voice, Arnett unleashes Batman's character as egotistical, obscure, sarcastic, and cool.

Even before the movie, Lego Batman actually now has a very popular franchise. It has three video games as well as an animated film, "Lego Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite."  It is a direct-to-video animated film based on the video game, "Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes". The plot centers on Lex Luthor and the Joker joining forces to wreck Gotham City while Batman and Robin team up with the Justice League to save Gotham. Troy Baker provided the voice for the Dark Knight.

Chris McKay, the animation supervisor of the movie, was first set to direct the sequel of the project, as per Today. But then, the movie got pushed back to give way to a Lego Batman spinoff. He is now in-charge of the Lego Batman movie. The film is written by the author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, along with Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller, as producers.

The anticipated movie "Lego 2" is set for release on May 26, 2017 under Warner Bros Studio, according to Hollywoodreporter. In the same report, Warner Bros made an announcement on the rescheduling of "Superman V Batman: Dawn of Justice". From the original May 26, 2016 scheduled release, the movie will be shown at an earlier date of March 25, 2016 to avoid a potential face-off with the third installment of "Captain America".

Lego fans will be delighted to know that a series of Lego movies are in the works . After Lego Batman, the next Lego movie slated to be seen in the big screen is "Ninjago", which is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 23, 2016. Then, a sequel to its spinoff will be released in 2018.
