The Walking Dead is a television series developed by Frank Darabont. This American post-apocalyptic horror drama is based on the comic book series of the same title by Tony Moore, Charlie Adlard and Robert Kirkman. The lead character is sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, who is played by Andrew Lincoln. He awakens from an unconsciousness just to find out that a post-apocalypse is already happening and the flesh-eating zombies are the dominating the world. Sheriff Deputy Grimes sets out to search for his family and come across with other survivors along the way.
Viewers has been well-received and loved this TV series and received lots of nominations for several awards that include the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Drama and the Writers Guild of America Award.
AMC has renewed 'The Walking Dead' for its fifth season on October 29, 2013 with Scott Gimple to come back as the show runner and is planned to debut on October 12, 2014. On October 7 this year, AMC renewed it for its season 6. For the fifth season, Josh McDermitt, Alanna Masterson, Michael Cudlitz, Gareth, Tara Chambler Christian Serratos and more were promoted as series regulars for the season.
The Walking Dead Season 5 will have 16 very exciting episodes and fans are all waiting for its premiere on the 12th of this month. Seth Gilliam will join the cast as the new series regular. He will act as Father Gabriel Stokes, from the comics.
On its newest season, they will show how difficult it is to survive a zombie apocalypse.
