In the global cybercrime world, Blackhat happens. A man is set free from prison to lend a hand to American and Chinese authorities and go after a puzzling criminal. Together, they track a high-level cybercrime network and the dangerous search leads them starting in Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta.
After the occurrence of a high-level computer hacking case, the Americana and Chinese military forces cooperate with each other to stop it. Chris Hemsworth as the lead character (Nicholas Hathaway) of the film portrayed Blackhat as a "sort of cat-and-mouse international heist-thriller."
Michael Mann and Chris Hemsworth promoted the film at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con. At first this film was entitled as Cyber, yet the final title was exposed during a panel at the San Diego Comic-Con International last July 26. Blackhat was expected to have a chance of qualifying for the Oscars. On September 25, the earliest official trailer for this was out.
On May 17 last year, the filming started in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as well as Jakarta, Indonesia. The film director donated a sum of US$38,500 (HK$300,000) to The The Community Chest of Hong Kong in the name of Hang Seng Bank. This is his way to say thank you for the bank for permitting him to film in the bank's lobby area that lasted for 5 evenings.
The storyline, the cast, the settings and the thrill are more than enough to excite all the movie goers across the globe.
