Attack on Titan is a 2013 anime series, which is based on the manga by Hajime Isayama in the Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. It revolves in a world where people live in cities that are surrounded by tremendous walls to protect them from Titans, gigantic creatures who consume humans without reason.

Last August, it was also announced that an original video animation series will be released. The upcoming animation in two-episodes will be based on the manga with the title, Attack on Titan: No Regrets. The episodes are plotted to be released on December 9, 2014 and April 9, 2014, along with the 15th and 6th volumes of the manga series.

The storyline follows Eren Jeager, his sister Mikasa, and their friend Armin. Their lives have been changed forever following the fissure of their hometown's wall their town, by an enormous Titan.

Pledging revenge as well as to reclaim the world from the large humanoid creatures, Eren and his friends team up the Scout Regiment. It is a top army of soldiers who combat the Titans in order to protect the world from their threat. Scout Regiment is divided into three groups - the Recon Corps, Military Police, and Garrison.

The anime version is directed by Tetsuro Araki and produced by Wit Studio under IG Port. It aired on MBS from April 6, 2013 and concluded last September 28, 2013. Later, the anime series also aired on FBS, Tokyo MX, TOS, HTB, TVA, and BS11. Websites Crunchyroll and Funimation also streamed the series with subtitles.

Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan was awarded 2014 Harvey Awards for the Best American Editionof Foreign Material category. It was nominated in July 2014 together with Taiyo Matsumoto's Sunny, Shigero Mizuki's Showa: A History of Showa Japan, Matz's The Killer: Volume 4, and Ulli Lust's Today Is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life.

In line with this, the first season of the anime series will be transformed into two-part theatrical films. The first film, which is entitled Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow, will be released on November 22. The second part, entitled Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom, will be released next year.

In IMDb, The cast of the series include Haruma Miura as Eren Jaeger, Shota Matsuda as Levi Ackerman, and Maki Horikita as Mikasa Ackerman.

Attack on Titan is set to be directed by Shinji Higuchi.

Since August 2014, the production for Season 2 was confirmed and has been ongoing. Rumors say that an upcoming second season will be aired next year; however, such speculations only circulate in the internet.
