Orange is the New Black Season 3 Release Date: Possibly June or July
The Emmy nominated Netflix television series has ended its season 2 run, but even before season 2 debuted; the series was already announced to be renewed for season 3 with 13 episodes. Along with the renewal, some new cast members have also been added to the show, as well as making some cast members officially as series regulars for season 3, such as Yael Stone, Samira Wiley, Selenis Leyva, Nick Sandow, Adrienne Moore, Laura Prepon, and Dascha Polenko.
Laura Prepon's character Alex Vause was first introduced in season one. She was seen in that season as someone in a relationship with Piper Chapman. She wasn't supposed to appear longer than one episode for the show's season 2, but show creator Jenji Kohan managed to pull out some forces and was able to get the go signal to include her in four more episodes of season 2. Prepon herself confirmed via Instagram her official return to the show's season 3.
Another character making a return is Loly, played by Lory Petty. In season 2, we saw her having made contact with Taylor Schilling (Piper) on a transport plane, but eventually got separated due to Piper being transferred back to Litchfield. We wonder what could be in store for her this time around in season 3, as well as Laura Prepon's character. Will Loly and Piper see each other again?
We could also see more of Loly's backstory in season 3, as fans of the show know that exploring the backstories of characters in Litchfield is one of those recurring themes. What could her backstory reveal about her?
Season 3 premieres next year, but no official date as of yet from Netflix. There is a possibility for June or July.
