Terminator: Genisys to be Followed by Two Sequels

It really has been quite a while since there was a Terminator movie, with the last film Terminator Salvation being released in 2009. However, Paramount Pictures is seriously looking into rebooting the franchise with the upcoming release of Terminator: Genisys that will open July 1 next year; which happens to be six years since Terminator Salvation.

But there is more good news that come with the impending release of Terminator: Genisys, as prior to its release; Paramount has already set two sequels to follow. With Terminator 2 slated for May 19, 2017 and Terminator 3 set for a June 29, 2018 release. As of the moment, Terminator 2 doesn't have a competitor on that play date, but Terminator 3 already has a rival at the box office with an untitled animation from Fox/Dreamworks Animation/Blue Sky film.

This means that the second sequel could really have a strong competition when it is finally out. In the meantime, we don't know much about the untitled film yet, when more details are provided; it could bring more explanation as to how strong it will be against Terminator 2.

Terminator: Genisys will star Arnold Schwarzenegger who reprises his role, along with Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, Dayo Okeniyi, Lee Byung-hun and J.K. Simmon; and directed by Alan Taylor.

The original film was released in 1984 with James Cameron directing Arnold Schwarzenegger as the cyborg assasin set to kill Sarah Connor.
