Wayward Pines Reveals, Review, Plot and Rumors: what to Expect, Cast and Plot as per New Show Coming to Fox

If you thought Under the Dome and The Summer People were the only places where people couldn't leave town well think again because Fox has one for you.  The show was officially by Fox in May of 2013 and was announced as a mid-season replacement show in 2015. Fox has only ordered ten episodes so it seems they are still on the fence about this new show but it seems to be a show to watch. The executive Producer and also pilot director is M. Night Shyamalan who has worked on The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender, Signs and After Earth so he is no stranger to science fiction.

Why is sci-fi experience relevant? The show is about the idealistic town of Wayward Pines, that has manicured lawn, happy children, dogs playing in sprinklers and a troop of soccer moms (no doubt) the only problem is nobody can leave. How do we get in? Well Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke is headed to Wayward Pines to find two secret service agents who have gone missing including one who all but destroyed his marriage. Our hero is involved in a car crash and wakes up in Wayward Pines Hospital where he meets a nurse who is trying to kill him. The happenings in the town make Ethan DOB his sanity and also lead us to think that this might be the terrestrial version of lost. On the outside his wife is told that there is no DNA evidence linking Ethan to his car (that was no doubt found) so it's a race to find the truth. And what is it about this town that keeps people on the inside and will our Hero leave eventually will the dome be lifted, So to speak?

The series is based on the novel Pines by Blake Couch although for Stephen King fans it seems like a weird mash up of his books but okay. The series has been slotted as a mid season replacement by Fox so we do not have an exact airing date but it seems to have a reasonable plot and with the right execution it could become one for the history books, I guess we shall all have to wait and see.
