Game of Thrones Video Game Release Date, News, and Updates: Telltale Teases Setting for Game of Thrones Game
It was announced last year by telltale Games that they were developing a videogame adaptation of the hit HBO TV drama Game of Thrones which is based off of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of books.
The Telltale official twitter account features a non-spoiler quote from the latest book A Dance with Dragons which says, "...Trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names such as Forrester and Woods, Branch and Bole." House Forrester is a minor clan that is briefly mentioned in the novels and is sworn to house Glover of Deepwood Motte. With that in mind, it's important to note that the events that will transpire in the games will coincide with the TV series but it won't serve as a prequel to the already established storyline.
"We'll be taking advantage of all the fiction to make something great," said the CEO of Telltale Games,Dan Connors, during an interview following the premiere of the announcement trailer. "We're just really getting into it right now and thinking about characters - who has the most at stake, who has the biggest impact on the world."
Telltale games is also the developer for The Walking Dead video game which features gameplay where players' choices and actions will have significant effects to the overall outcome of the storyline. The Game of Thrones video game will also adapt the same concept with having the game as a point-and-click adventure releasing episodes to complete the whole story of the game.
The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, OS X, and PC by late 2014.
