Lego Movie 2 Release Date
The Lego Movie 2 is an animated adventure film to be published and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is a sequel to the first film "The Lego Movie" which was produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee, and directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are expected to return for the direction and production of the new film.
The movie is based on the most popular "Lego" construction toys, famous for the sets of bricks that can be interlocked and were bind together for a mini construction, which was first manufactured in the late 1940's by The Lego Group, and are still popular up to the present day.
The story of the first film is about a super weapon called "The Kragle" that falls in the wrong hands of an evil and tyrannical character named Lord Business who is voiced by Will Ferrel, but is later to be challenged by a person named Emmet Brickowski who is said to have been prophesized to save the Lego Universe from Lord Business, by discovering what is called the "Piece of Resistance" when he falls into a hole, and that will aid him in stopping the super weapon and defeating the villain.
Other characters in the first film include, Batman, Superman, Bad Cop, Vitruvius and Wyldstyle.
It was developed by Warner Animation Group, a division of Warner Bros. Pictures, and is their first animation production that was met with much success. It was released this year, last February 7, 2014.
As to the upcoming sequel, not much is known yet about the story and the theme behind it, since it is still in development, and is expected to be released 3 years from now, on May 26, 2017.
