Power Rangers Movie Cast Rumors, Storyline and Other Updates: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers gets July 22 Premiere Date

Way back in 1995, kids from across the world were tuned in to the adventures of their beloved superheroes known as the 'Power Rangers'. Well, July 22, 2016 would be a day full of nostalgic memories as fans, adults and kids alike will finally see it in the big screen, which will be the premiere of the latest Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie. We can barely wait for the date to come, but here are the latest developments of the film.

Lionsgate and Haim Saban, the creator of the beloved kids' TV show has shook hands and made a deal to reboot this live-action franchise. It will be written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, who were also responsible for the script of the popular movie 'X-Men'. The director for the show remains undecided though, but many are already speculating that it will be someone big. Among the ones considered for the line-up are the helmers of 'Thor', 'Avengers' and many more superhero movies that we came to love.

There is still no official announcement from the producers when will the production start as no actors have yet to sign. But it is being peg at any time this year until the first quarter of next year. Depending on the timeframe of filming, the release date may be pushed up or even back further. Hence, let's not get too hopeful with the targeted release date.

As for the plot of the Power Rangers reboot, it will explore the roots of the Mighty Morphins as a group of teenagers who were bested with supernatural powers to help protect Planet Earth.
