CW has released a new poster for "The Flash" series, which you can check out above. "Discover what makes a hero. #TheFlash series premieres Tuesday, October 7 at 8/7c on @CW_network!" the show captioned on Twitter.
The new action show premieres on the CW network this Fall from writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns. It will be based on the DC Comics character Flash (Barry Allen), a costumed crime-fighter who was created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino. It is a spin-off to Arrow, existing in the same universe. The pilot for the series was written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and Johns, and directed by David Nutter. The series was officially picked up on May 8, 2014.
You can check out the premiere of "The Flash" on The CW on Tuesday night, October 7th at 8/7c.
The series stars Grant Gustin ("Glee," "Arrow") as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton ("The Game") as Iris West, Rick Cosnett ("The Vampire Diaries") as Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker ("Necessary Roughness," "Justified") as Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes ("Once" on Broadway ) as Cisco Ramon, with Tom Cavanagh ("Ed," "Eli Stone") as Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin ("Law & Order") as Detective West.
"If it had been a team of people that didn't know what they were doing, I probably wouldn't have gotten this role because they would have just cast a blonde guy who was buff," Grant recently told THR about his starring role on the show.
Grant added, "They were looking for somebody who encompassed the heart of Barry Allen and at first, I didn't realize I did. Now that I've explored the character, the comics, read the scripts and talked to [the producers], I understand why I got this role. It will probably forever be my favorite character that I'll ever get to play."
Synopsis: After witnessing his mother's murder, and his father wrongly accused, Barry Allen is taken in by Detective West and his family. Becoming a forensic scientist, Allen tries to uncover the truth about his mother's murder, which leads him to Harrison Wells' particle accelerator. When the accelerator causes an explosion, Allen is struck by lightning, and enters a coma. When he wakes up, he learns he has the ability to move at superhuman speeds, though he is not the only metahuman created in the wake of the explosion. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.
