Modern Family season 6 News, Cast, Rumors, and Updates: Steve Zahn Joins the Cast
ABC's hit comedy series Modern Family received 5 nominations last night at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards and won 3 awards including Outstanding Comedy Series which they've won for the 5th consecutive year.
Actor ty Burrel won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series while Gail Mancuso won Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the Modern family episode "Las Vegas." Nominations include Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, and Nathan lane.
With all the wins of Modern Family, TV audiences are now hyped to see what's next in store for America's favorite family.
It was announced yesterday that Steve Zahn (Joy Ride) has joined season 6 of the show. Zahn will play "Ronnie" who is the husband of an annoying family that moves in next door to the Dunphys. Hi role in season 6 has been described as a recurring-guest star role. Modern Family has had numerous other stars in the past season making guest appearances like Edward Norton, Jesse Eisenberg, Elizabeth Banks, Greg Kinnear, and Kevin Hart. The addition of Zahn to the cast will surely equate to more hilarity as Zahn is also known for his comedic roles. It's interesting to note that Kevin Hart played the Dunphy's backyard neighbor who becomes a friend to Phil, adding the character of Ronnie will surely not result in the same friendly relationship.
The previous season of Modern Family concluded with Mitch and Cameron's wedding, and season 6 will most likely pick-up right after that.
Modern Family Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on ABC on September 24.
