Better Call Saul TV Series Release Date, Trailer, News, and Spoilers: NEW Teaser Trailer Released Online
Better Call Saul is the highly anticipated spin-off of AMC hit drama Breaking Bad, and marks the return of Bob Odenkirk as the "criminal" lawyer Saul Goodman.
The series will take place before the events of Breaking Bad when Saul Goodman was still known as Jimmy McGill. The new television series will focus on how and why Jimmy McGill transformed himself into Saul Goodman.
The new teaser trailer doesn't show much, as the teaser is more of series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould discussing what audiences can expect from the new show. The information they've provided isn't really new if you've been keeping track of the upcoming show for the last few months, but it does beg the question: How did Saul Goodman start?
"How do you become Saul Goodman," creator Gould asks. "What kind of problem do you have that becoming Saul Goodman solves it?"
The new teaser also gave a nod to Breaking Bad characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman when McGill/Goodman addresses his prospected clients saying "I don't go out looking for guilty people to represent, who needs that aggravation." Funny that in Breaking Bad that he is fully aware of White and Pinkman's illegal activities. This just may be a peek at what type of person Saul Goodman used to be, and events in the upcoming show might enlighten us as to how and why a person was driven out of his prior integrity.
Development for the new series began in April 2013 and was eventually greenlit soon afterwards when the show was given web syndication by Netflix. Filming began in June 2014 and will premiere on AMC sometime in January of 2015.
