Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart will receive their first joint award as a couple. The Hollywood Reporter says they will share the spotlight at the Women's Guild Cedars-Sinai Stardust Ball, a fundraiser on Nov. 18. Parade reports the event is at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and that the honor is the Hollywood Icon Award.
The organization said the pair were chosen for "extraordinary careers and longstanding commitment to philanthropy." Media mogul Byron Allen will also be honored, with a humanitarian award.
The giving behind the honor is specific. Ford joined Conservation International's board in 1991, is its longest-serving member, and is now a vice chair. Flockhart has supported work to prevent violence against women and children, as well as animal welfare and health causes.
Are they still married? Yes. They married on June 15, 2010, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Accepting a lifetime achievement award in March, Ford thanked his wife for giving him the love and courage to do it all.
Some headlines this week are also recycling an older comment from Ford. In a May 2023 Esquire cover story, he said, "If I'd been less successful, I'd probably be a better parent." That quote is from 2023, not new. Flockhart has said he evolved into being a good father.
