The Maze Runner Movie Release Date, News, and Updates: 2 New Clips Released in Anticipation of The Premiere
The Maze Runner is an upcoming film adaptation based on the 2009 novel written by author James Dashner.
The Maze Runner is about a teenage boy named Thomas waking up inside a maze with no memory of the outside world. He now has to uncover his past and the mystery of how and why he's locked up inside the maze. He soon discovers that he is not alone as there is already a group of boys locked with him inside the maze as well.
The novel became a New York Times best-seller and has been described by most readers as a combination of the books 'Lord of the Flies,' and 'The Hunger Games,' and has even been compared to the hit television show 'Lost."

The film rights of the book was acquired by 20th Century Fox and pre-production began under the direction of executive producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman. Filming began on May 13, 2013 and officially ended on July 12, 2013. The film was directed by Wes Ball with a screenplay adapted by writer Noah Oppenheim.
The Maze Runner stars 'Teen Wolf' heartthrob Dylan O'Brien as Thomas, along with Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Newt, Kaya Scodelario as Teresa, Will Poulter as Gally, and Patricia Clarkson as Chancellor Ava Paige.
The Maze Runner is scheduled to be released on September 19, 2014 in the United States.
