Rising Christian artist Carly Ann Taylor has released "Something Good Is Coming," the title track of her upcoming debut album and one of the most personal songs she's ever put her name to.
The Curb Records singer-songwriter says the song traces back to four words she held onto during a childhood marked by abuse and instability. "These were the exact words that started it all: Something good is coming," Taylor shared. "Those words were just enough for me to hang on a little bit longer... When I thought I would never get out, when I thought there was no hope for me, the Lord had plans for me."
In an emotional post announcing the release, Taylor wrote that she grew up amid what she described only as "a lot of abuse and dysfunction," adding that she once didn't believe there was a reason to keep living - until she came to understand she'd been created "on purpose, with a purpose, and for a purpose." She tied the song's message to Romans 8:18, writing that she considers "the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
The track was written by Taylor alongside Carter Frodge and Harrison Hackett, with production from Frodge and Joseph Prielozny. It follows Taylor's recent single "Lifeline" featuring KB, which was named a Spotify Editors' Pick in August, as well as earlier releases "Heavenly Father" and her Top 10 radio hit "Why Should I Worry (Remind Me Version)," which earned her a Breakout Single nomination at this year's K-LOVE Fan Awards.
Taylor says the new album will continue unfolding her story "chapter by chapter," with more music planned this fall alongside a run of upcoming tour dates.
