Rend Collective is kicking off a new era with "Runaway Heart," the lead single and opening track from their new EP The Evergreen Season, released Friday, September 11.

The Northern Irish worship band - known for their high-energy folk-rock sound since forming out of a Bible study group in Bangor - announced the release with a playful promo video featuring a band member sweating it out in a full-body red heart costume on a hot day, captioned with a warning: "This costume was a billion degrees... The Evergreen Season EP features five tracks: "Runaway Heart," "Evergreen," "Do It All Alone" featuring Jervis Campbell, "Salt and Light," and "Wild Love." The project builds on the band's earlier 2026 single "Evergreen," which frontman Chris Llewellyn has said grew out of tracing the arc of both the band's journey and his own life - including a difficult health season in his family - and landing on the theme of God's unchanging faithfulness through every chapter.

Rend Collective has spent nearly two decades building a reputation for turning worship into celebration, with hits like "Build Your Kingdom Here" and "My Lighthouse" becoming congregational staples well beyond their Irish roots. With The Evergreen Season, the band continues leaning into themes of constancy and trust - now paired with the kind of lighthearted, self-deprecating humor that's made their social media following as devoted as their concert crowds.
