Duckworth, who died suddenly at just 44, was remembered Saturday, August 22, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Among those saying goodbye was his longtime friend and former Real World: Key West castmate Bananas, who later shared photos from the deeply personal gathering.
One particularly striking image showed Bananas standing beside Duckworth's urn with his hand resting on it - a quiet moment that underscored just how deeply the loss has affected those who knew the reality star long before he became a Challenge champion.

The memorial program reportedly included Philippians 4:6-7, the biblical passage encouraging believers to bring their anxieties to God in prayer and promising a peace that "surpasses all understanding." Bananas had previously concluded his own tribute to Duckworth with "147:3," apparently pointing to Psalm 147:3: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
The emotional memorial comes as major questions remain about Duckworth's shocking death.
Duckworth was found unresponsive inside his Grand Forks apartment on August 11 after neighbors downstairs reportedly noticed water leaking through their ceiling. According to reports citing police records, authorities discovered him in the bathroom near the door while water was overflowing from the bathtub.
Police have said there were no apparent signs of foul play, but an official cause of death has not yet been announced. The North Dakota State Forensic Examiner's Office is reportedly conducting further testing, meaning answers could still be months away.
Adding to the shock, Duckworth had reportedly undergone surgery shortly before his death, although there has been no official determination connecting the procedure to what happened. He had also appeared at a Challenge Mania event in Minneapolis on July 31 - less than two weeks before his death.
Duckworth first entered the MTV spotlight on The Real World: Key West in 2006 before becoming a formidable Challenge competitor. He ultimately won two seasons, Cutthroat and Rivals, cementing his place among the franchise's memorable champions.
Away from television, however, Duckworth had built another life entirely. He became a world history teacher, a role his family highlighted following his death.
Now, as investigators continue working to determine exactly what happened inside Duckworth's apartment, those closest to him have gathered for one final goodbye.
