Taylor Swift New Album 2014: Release Date to be Announced at Yahoo! Event

Country pop superstar Taylor Swift has been working on her 5th studio album since July 2013 and fans have been waiting eagerly since for a release date.

Swift took to social media and uploaded clues for her fans, the first being was a video on Instagram of her repeatedly pressing the No. 18 in an elevator. On Twitter, she uploaded a picture of her cat with the time 5:00 serving as the second clue, then followed by a screenshot of the Yahoo! Homepage. The clues all point to a livestream event to be held by Yahoo! On August 18 (today), at 5pm.

Last week on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Swift teased fans regarding the new album by saying that, "there could be one announcement, or there could be multiple announcements," that will be revealed on the Yahoo! Livestream event. The statement could refer to the release date of the album and quite possibly an announcement on live tour dates. Yesterday on Taylor Swift's official Facebook account, fans were asked to comment questions they want to ask for the livestream. There is also reason to believe that the new album could be released to surprise fans. She also confirmed on The Tonight Show that she will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24, this coming Sunday. This could be the first opportunity for fans to hear new material from the upcoming album.

A 2014 release date is not so farfetched considering that Taylor Swift is known for releasing new albums every 2 years since her debut back in 2006. Her previous album, RED, was released back in October 22, 2012 which was met with praise from fans and critics even garnering 3 nominations at the Grammy Awards and is certified Platinum in 9 countries.

Don't miss the livestream event on Yahoo! Later at 5pm for Taylor Swifts' announcement and possibly a live performance from her new album.
